  Luxembourg: GenLux GenLux is the youngest offspring of CRV, established in Luxembourg in 2006 where a significant downtrend over recent years in the number of farmers is set to continue. The farms are getting larger and more specialized, aiming for low cost production. The small number in cattle does not allow for a national breeding programme or high investments in human resources and IT developments, but customers nevertheless want the optimum quality in service and genetic products. Many farmers decided to take the opportunity to join a large and competent family, CRV, through a subsidiary company GenLux. This allows active participation in a transnational breeding scheme and permits the use of a common database and information technologies to advise farmers through a mating program linked to the database.
