After the Czech Republic joined the European Union in 2004, CRV acquired
the cattle division of the Czech CMPU. This former subsidiary was
first named CZ Delta and later CRV Delta, giving access to the Middle
and Eastern European market. CRV Delta has headquarters near Prague
and has production locations (bull studs) in Zasmuky, Pomezi, Brna
and Osik.
The company employs over 250 people. CRV Delta is the market leader
for both milk production recording as well as AI. Of the 420,000 cows
in milk recording, 140,000 (with the services of 115 milk testers)
are tested by CRV Delta. The cows are found in fewer than 1,000 herds,
which indicates large farms on average. CRV Delta samples 90 young
sires annually, of which 45 are from the Fleckvieh breed and 45 Holstein.
The Czech Fleckvieh breed is comparable with the Fleckvieh populations
in Germany and Austria. With CRV Delta, CRV now has the opportunity
to supply her network world-wide with a breed that provides cows that
perform well in environments with less than ideal circumstances. Intensified
co-operation with CRV resulted in the housing of Dutch bulls in the
Czech Republic.
